sunsets wobbled in his eyes
pooled anguish
exposed by the accident and sudden
death, a promise we all
keep
no shelter to hide
beneath except a broad
forehead, sunburnt
worries
lining the life full
of love and care
feeling no time
enough to relinquish
the splintering earthquake of heartache
wishing for just
one more day.
